Animals

We had the elk visit our backyard again this year, this time staying for quite a while. It's hard to get up close because they're so skittish.

This is Isabel, a wild raccoon that was rescued by a friend of mine and cared for until she could return to the wild. This is a completely unaltered photo - she actually smiled for me.

This is a koala at a park in Sydney, Australia. He was sound asleep and the caretaker eventually woke him up so the crowd of people could come over and pet him. Have you ever seen an angry koala?

This guy was so completely relaxed I thought he would fall out of the tree, but they have an amazing ability to sleep in the wildest poses...

This is my dog Charlie. I painted a Santa hat on him and made it my Christmas card one year. He's still embarrassed about it...

This moose used to bed down on the property next to us, until our neighbors built a pasture fence. The last time we saw him was last summer as he roamed around our back acreage. He was velvety black and as big as an SUV.

Here's a better picture of the goats. Rocky, on the left, is the loud one and makes the most noise. Marvin is the smart one who has figured out how to open the gate to the pen.

Here's Goat Heaven. I never thought I'd spend so much time building a goat house. I've also built a gazebo so they can eat without getting snowed on or rained on.

Jack still doesn't believe he's in dog heaven.

What a sweet boy!

Charlie and Chester love to play.

Chester goes in for the kill on the big schnoz!

We weren't doin' anything, momma!

Friends in the end.

Dooney and Black Jack

Our boys love to go for a ride.

Anybody wanna play with me?
